It’s been an incredible experience collaborating with @Blizzard on five 15-second tonal trailers in support of the World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion Housing feature.

Going deeper into the Azeroth world to bring the characters to life and capture the beauty and fantasy was a creative and exciting challenge for our team. ????

"For these trailers, even though we have world-class performance capture technology at our disposal, we wanted to stay true to the original World of Warcraft cinematics style and give the performances a handcrafted touch...We decided to keyframe the body performances by hand, and decided on a very traditional approach of shooting references with actors and animators before building the animations up in layers, from blocking it out to refining it. For the facial performance, we wanted to get the best from the amazing face rigs our team has developed over the years. We shot the facial performances with actors, applied them to our rigs, and our animators stylised the performances further to match the body style." - Friedl Joost, Animation Director.
