Inside the VFX Magic of Santa & Cie with Alain Chabat — MPC Paris

Christmas 2017. Santa & Cie hits French theaters and quickly becomes a cult favorite. But a few weeks earlier, just days before delivering our VFX, we received a surprise visit at the studio.

Director Alain Chabat dropped by MPC Paris, known as Mikros VFX at the time, to see the magic happen firsthand. In this video interview and VFX breakdown, Alain Chabat shares why the MPC Paris teams felt truly magical on this film. VFX Supervisor Hugues Namur walks us through some of the key visual effects, Matte Painting Supervisor Christophe Courgeau dives into the iconic Champs Elysees sequence, and Animation Supervisor Alexandre Sauthier reveals how the 3D reindeer came to life.

A great memory, a great collaboration, and a perfect reminder that behind every Christmas story, there is a lot of craft, passion and teamwork.
