Led by VFX Supervisor Tiago Faria, Bluebolt created 327 VFX shots across the acclaimed eight episode series to seamlessly support the fast-paced, globe-trotting adventures of Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) as he unravels a conspiracy that changes his life forever and sets him on course as a famous sleuth.

BlueBolt tackled multiple 1870s environments, spanning London, Paris and Constantinople as the action unfolds. BlueBolt heavily contributed to the tense Paris gunfight sequences around the barricades in episodes 6 and 7, incorporating environment destruction, atmos and muzzle flashes. For the dramatic finale episode, BlueBolt created a CG quarry and ravine environment extensions as well as the final gunfight battle and CG double for Silas. They also developed a distinctive zoetrope-inspired visual effect for Sherlock’s flashback sequence in episode seven. Other key sequences included augmenting a major explosion in Oxford in episode one to add to the sense of danger and tension; CG butterflies and spittle addition inside Silas’ killing jar; and period accurate London and Constantinople skylines.
