Behind the Scenes of The Bad Guys 2

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at The Bad Guys 2 with Gnomon alumni and artists from DreamWorks! Representing the film’s Animation, Effects, and Look Development teams, the panel breaks down how they helped bring the sequel’s bold, stylized visuals to life.

• Animation – Brooke Shay Bradford explores the animation style of The Bad Guys, focusing on the challenges in animating the Cairo Chase sequence and the animation development of new characters: Kitty, Pigtail, and Doom.

• Effects – Dakota Smith provides a behind-the-scenes look at the design and technical workflows behind key FX shots, breaking down several setups used in the film.

• Look Development – Rachael Yang dives into the texturing, grooming, and micro-dressing pipelines used to achieve the signature Bad Guys visual style across characters and environments.

• FX Techniques – Yorie Kumalasari presents the FX team’s approach to creating tire smoke, demonstrating how 2D and 3D effects were combined to bring the look to life.

Whether you're interested in character animation, FX workflows, or stylized look development, this event is a chance to hear directly from industry artists as they share their techniques and lessons from production.
