FLITE is the directorial debut of Oscar winning VFX Supervisor and Framestore’s Chief Creative Officer, Tim Webber. The futuristic short film explores the nascent and underground practice of ‘memory visualisation’.

Taking the hybrid approach Tim developed for Gravity a step further, FLITE blends performances from Alba Baptista and Gethin Anthony, alongside Daniel Lawrence Taylor, with CGI created in Unreal Engine to form CG humans that give genuine, emotional performances.

An experimental short, FLITE puts FUSE - the Framestore Unreal Shot Engine - our VFX and animation pipeline built around Epic Games’ Unreal Engine to test; delivering scale and complexity that otherwise wouldn't be practical for anything but the biggest blockbuster.

An exploration into pushing the limits of FUSE in the context of VFX heavy movies, FLITE also incorporates real performances within a virtual world to deliver hybrid animated humans with real emotional depth.
