In this version, Jingoro receives the chainsaw and slices the enemies with a spin maneuver, and then kills off the rest as he runs across the room. However, this sequence felt a bit too long for the pilot film, and we ended up with the current shorter version.

????What is HIDARI?
This film will tell the action-packed story of Jingoro Hidari, a legendary sculptor who is said to have existed in the Edo period of Japan, although his very existence is yet to be confirmed. Many of his anecdotes claim that he was able to “breathe life” into wooden sculptures, which is exactly what we wanted to do in this stop-motion film. With the aim of turning this project into a feature-length film, we’ve produced a 5-minute pilot film to explore the potential of this concept. We hope you enjoy this bold mix of dynamic Japanimation-like action and stop-motion techniques, unlike anything you have ever seen before.
Our intention is to use this pilot film as a starting point to create a full length feature film. We are currently trying to raise the necessary funding and finding production partners to achieve this goal! Thank you all for your support :pray:

この作品は、江戸時代にいたとされる実存不明な伝説的彫刻職人「左甚五郎」の物語を、彼にまつわる様々な逸話の数々と同じように「木彫りの人形に命を吹き込む」ことで映像化した、ストップモーション時代劇作品です。この企画の長編映画化を目指して、まずは本企画の魅力やポテンシャルを探るべく、5分程のパイロットフィルムを製作しました。ジャパニメーションのダイナミックなアクションと、ストップモーションのアナログな世界観を大胆にミックスした、これまで観たことのないような映像体験をお楽しみください。

In this live filming session, we’re trying to film a quick scene that follows where the pilot film left off. Since we couldn’t finish the filming during the dwarf studio’s 20th-anniversary exhibition, we decided to do spend some extra time to complete this short additional sequence.

We’re filming this scene based solely on the onomatopoeic cues as below:
Click, click, click... clunk! Boom! Whooosh... Bwaaahhh!! Grrrrrr clunk! Dooooohhhhhh!!
