A bitter cancellation to accept.



This is previz animation released by director Wes Ball after the cancellation was announced. Considering it’s test footage within the Unreal engine and WETA was going to do it all properly, it looks astonishingly good. And since there was a version without music, and I’d deeply love to score an animation of this type, naturally I spaffed my music all over it. Because self-promotion is all, even when an amazing-looking film gets scrapped.



Editing your own music to someone else’s footage is a weird and difficult process. I had to suffer lots of fades and micro edits to make this fit, make lots of tough choices over which tracks I used, and make peace with the fact that the original mood for these scenes may well have been wholly different. Thanks, Wes.



Needless to say, I don't own any of this footage.
