PhoenixFD - Exploring Mapper

One way to change liquid attributes during a simulation is by using the Mapper helper. Combine it with the Vray Distance Texture and you can emulate a "transfer by collision" or "proximity" result. The examples on the video are all super low resolution. 1mill cells and no more than 450K particles at most. Towards the end of the video i have a still frame, showing the workflow behind this method, based on the 2nd example.

Once again, many thanks to Svetlin for helping clarifying a thing or two... :)

Here are the scene files for the 1st and 2nd examples from the video, for those of you who want to check the workflow. You have to sim to see the results; no caches included. Scenes are a bit cleaned up and with lower SPF, to make things easier to see and run a bit faster than those used on the video... :)
