Join our crew of intrepid space adventurers as they witness the astronomical event of a lifetime. Will they survive the encounter or will their hubris be their downfall?

Hoo Boy! dwburman finally got around to making a cartoon short that wasn't for someone else. I hope you like this little sci-fi comedy spoof created by Dana W. Burman. This project has been years in the making, although, to be fair, most of that time was spent not working on it. :)

The 3D modeling and animation were done in LightWave 3D. You can see some samples and technique videos in the archives of this channel. Most of 2D animation was done in Adobe Character Animator with some shots done in After Effects. Editing and some basic compositing were done in Premiere Pro. 3D Coat, Photoshop, Illustrator and even a bit of Moho (the artwork for the first version of the 2D captain character) were used in making the visuals. Dana's audio was recorded in Reaper.

While the 3D bridge set was built and textured over the last several years (along with early versions of the captain character), the actual recording and animation of the episode and all the rest of the character artwork were largely made between December of 2019 and February 12, 2020 with a few more updates in March and April.
